Just tonight I found myself using this wonderful resource, yet again! The International Association for Medical Assistance to Travelers (IAMAT) is a wonderful non-profit organization that has so many useful features involving travel health. I frequently use the service of locating a travel clinic in various locations around the world. Some travelers are able to get one vaccine with our clinic and then need the next dose in the series at the destination or while on the road. Through my membership with IAMAT I am able to log into their global network of travel medicine clinics and health care providers to help find a reputable clinic in many far-away-lands.
Their “membership” is a small donation to their work and helps fund travel medicine scholarships to health care providers from developing nations, their extensive website, maps on disease locations and their international clinic directory. Their website also allows you to create a customized “travel health planner” for your trip.
This is one organization I am very proud to be a member of and wanted to share this resource with others! Check them out here: http://www.iamat.org/index.cfm
