The WHO (world health organization) released a statement about the mysterious illness that is causing neurological symptoms in Angola. 370 cases have been reported in the Cacuaco municipality, Angola. The article link is here: http://www.who.int/csr/don/2007_11_16/en/index.html
Symptoms include decreased mental status, awaking only to painful stimuli and ataxia (difficulty walking). Investigators are looking for toxins or heavy metals, such as lead, to be the cause. Testing thus far has been negative and the cause is still unknown.
